The desk and bookcase are to house a small usable office int he heart of the home without it taking over the kitchen. Again, both of these are solid wood, frame and panel construction using mortise and tenon joinery. The bookcase sliding doors are made from an old reclaimed slate chalkboard. The sides and back have chicken-wire in the panels to mirror the chicken-wire glass int he upper buffet.
