Belt Buckles

I finally got some pictures up of the belt buckles I have been working on since last fall.  Go to “Belt Buckles” under “artwork.” They are handmade out of steel using torch, forge, and sanding/polishing work.  They are all one of a kind.  I like the rough finish look with the natural colors and rust of the steel coming through.  But some of them I sand and polish up.  I think this will be a consistant line in which I keep creating new pieces.  Custom requests are welcome- for the belt buckles and any work, just send me an email!

New Mosaic piece

I recently finished a small mosaic wall hanging entitled “Cow Skull at Midnight.”  Go to “Mosaics” or “New Work” to see a photo.

Amish barn wood

I’m currently working on some tables for an office in downtown Brooklyn.  I’m using old Amish barn wood (pine).  I love working with the old worn and warm wood.  Go to “artwork- Furniture” to see photos.   I like working with materials that have a long history already.  I swear I can feel the energy in my hands when I work with the barn wood.  Design wise I am combining some Shaker elements and arts and crafts style, and my own personal preferences.  I also am using old wood joinery techniques which add to the evidence of hand feel of the old barn wood.
